Unyik Care is a state-contracted provider of hospital sitting services, specializing in the supervision and support of children in the care of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS). Founded by healthcare professional Marquita, our mission is to ensure that no child is left without the attention and care they need during a hospital stay.
What We Do
When a child in DFPS conservatorship is hospitalized and a DFPS staff member or foster parent is unavailable, Unyik Care steps in. Our Hospital Sitters provide appropriate supervision and basic childcare services, ensuring that children are never alone during their most vulnerable moments. Whether it's for routine admissions or extended hospital stays, we deliver reliable, compassionate, and professional support.

Our Founder
The founder of Unyik Care brings over a decade of experience in healthcare administration and client services. With a background working in major healthcare systems such as Memorial Hermann Hospital and HCA, the founder built a strong foundation in patient coordination, compliance, and operational support.
That experience eventually led to work with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), first as a Case Aide (HST) and later as a Program Director Clerk. These roles provided valuable hands-on experience supporting children in DFPS care and collaborating closely with agency staff, caseworkers, and placement teams.
A passion for improving the quality of supervision and support for children in care inspired the creation of Unyik Care. The founder’s continued focus on operational efficiency, communication, and compassionate service drives Unyik Care’s mission to ensure every child receives attentive, reliable supervision across Texas.
